Camp David Meeting.
President Kennedy talks with former President Eisenhower at Camp David, Maryland, where the two conferred for more than an hour and a half April 22. The meeting was one of a series of conferences Mr. Kennedy hold with Republican Party leaders to discuss Unites States foreign policy. The President told newsmen that he had invited Mr. Eisenhower " the come have lunch in order to bring him up date on recent events and in order to get the banefit of his thoughts and his experience". This was the first meeting of the two men since Inauguration Day, January 20. The Catoctin Mountain retreat, named after Mr. Eisenhower´s grandson, David, is located some 20 miles (30 km) south of the Eisenhower farm at Gettysburg, Pennsylvania.
